Over the course of his life, Hazrat Inayat Khan envisioned and developed Seven Activities to help one explore the inner life and how this life relates to the outer world. Activities he created in his lifetime are the Inner School, Universal Worship, the Healing Activity, Kinship which he called Brotherhood, and Ziraat. He anticipated the Knighthood of Purity by ordaining knights and heralds at his last Summer School in 1926. The Activity was formally established on Hejerat Day, September 13, 2010 by Pir Zia Inayat Khan and Shaikh al-Mashaik Mahmood Khan. The Music Activity was created subsequently by Pir Zia.
